Canal and River Trust- Special Visitor

We had a lovely afternoon with Claire from the Canal and River Trust. Claire was invited in to help develop our knowledge of canals as part of our Mountains and Rivers topic. Claire taught us all about why canals were built and explained how they were the mode of transport that many farmers/ tradespeople used. Claire taught us about navvies, puddling and about the Chesterfield Canal.
