We were so lucky to have some firefighters come to see us and share the importance of safety around fireworks. We even got to have a look inside the fire engine and had a go with the water hose! An amazing experience.
This week, in Music, we learnt more about different musical notes and wrote our own sequences before working together to perform them to the class!
Our final Science lesson allowed us to continue to investigate the properties of materials, this week focusing on whether materials could be squashed, stretched or twisted! We have really enjoyed finding out more about different materials and how they are suited for different things.
In English, we planned and wrote letters to Paddington from Aunt Lucy. We thought of some interesting questions to ask him and then published our writing. Some of these will go on our display! In Maths, we have been focusing on addition and added numbers by making ten and then added three one-digit numbers too! In Art, we applied our knowledge of sketching to sketch our own self-portraits and these look amazing - they really showcase the progress we have made in this area. In RE, we learnt about the Jewish celebration Shabbat and discussed some of the key events that take place during the service. We also completed our Harvest service - thank you to all of the grown ups who came to support us! Finally, we finished the half term by watching Paddington and we saw the bath scene that we had written about during our instructional writing. Well done to all the children for settling in to class so well and for giving it their all
