Autumn 1 learning
Week 6
This week we are continuing to learn how to play the violin. We are finishing our learning about instructions and wrote our own instructions based on how to be a Stone Age hunter gatherer.
Week 5
In week 5, we have been learning about the muscles and how they contract. We even made our own model! We also had World Mental Health Day and we spoke about how our feelings and who we can talk to if we feel sad.
Week 3 and 4
During the past 2 weeks, we have completed our first Gold Write based on the Stone Age Boy. In Maths, we have learned how to compare numbers to 1000! In Science, we have been learning about the different bones in our body. We conducted an experiment, do people with longer legs jump further? We have been continuing our violin lessons, learning the D and A string and applying this to songs.
Week 1 and 2
Clumber Class have been completing some excellent work during the past 2 weeks. They have started playing the violins and cellos as a whole class. In English, we are looking at the Stone Age Boy book and we have been learning how to use adjectives, adverbs, nouns and verbs in sentences to describe the characters. In Maths, we have been learning how to partition a number to 1000 and recapping the place value of two and three digit numbers. In History, we have learned about the Ice Age and next we will be moving on to the Stone Age. In PSHE, we have been learning about different types of families. In French, we have learned simple greetings such as ‘salut’.
